Privacy
Last updated 22 October 2026. This page covers Notelift at peakappsstudio.com/colornote-viewer and its Japanese, Korean, Spanish and Portuguese pages.
Your notes and your password stay on your device
When you open a ColorNote backup, the page hands the file to a worker script running in the same browser tab. It tries ColorNote's default password, 0000, and, if that does not open the file, the password you type. The password is used once to open the file and is not kept, shown again or saved. The notes are then shown in the page. Nothing from the backup and not the password is sent to a server, ours or anyone else's, and nothing is stored: closing or reloading the tab discards it. The text, Markdown, PDF, CSV, JSON and pack files are made in the tab and saved straight to your device.
A ColorNote backup also holds the account the phone was signed in with (sign-in tokens) and the app's settings. Notelift skips that part without reading it and never shows or saves it.
Notelift only reads. It never changes your backup file and never writes a new one.
What the page does send
- The Pro license check. When you paste a license key, the page sends that key and the product's number to Gumroad's license check (api.gumroad.com) and keeps the answer in your browser's local storage, so Pro stays on. It checks again in the background once a week. Nothing from your notes goes with it.
- Visit counts. We count page visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and no personal data. It never sees your files or your password.
- Buying Pro. The buy button opens Gumroad, which handles payment under its own privacy policy. We get your email address and the purchase from Gumroad, to answer questions and refunds.
ColorNote
Notelift never connects to ColorNote's online backup, Google or Facebook and never asks for a login. It is not affiliated with ColorNote or Social & Mobile, Inc.
