Print a Canvas quiz with the answers
Inside Canvas, only New Quizzes have a Print Key button. Classic Quizzes, and every quiz you exported before losing access, need another way. The answers are in the export file: here is how to get them on paper.

Without Canvas: print from the export
A Canvas course export (.imscc) and a quiz export (QTI .zip) keep each Classic Quiz with its scoring rules, so the correct answers are in the file. Cubby reads them in your browser:
- Open the .imscc or QTI .zip file in Cubby.
- Pick the quiz from its module, or from Quizzes under "Everything in the course".
- Press Show answers. Correct choices are marked, and fill-in, numerical, matching and dropdown answers are written out under each question.
- Press Print this. Only the quiz is printed, without the page around it. Choose "Save as PDF" in the print dialog for a PDF.
Press Print without Show answers for the student copy. Both are free. With Cubby Pro, every quiz in the course is saved at once as two Word files, the questions and the answer key, ready to edit.
What each question type looks like on paper

Question groups are printed with their rule, for example "students get 2 of 3, 3 points each". Questions drawn from a question bank print only if the bank was exported with the course.

Questions
Can I see Canvas quiz answers without Canvas?
Yes, for Classic Quizzes in a course export or QTI .zip. The scoring rules in the file say which answer is right, and Cubby shows them next to each question.
Why do some questions show no answer?
Essay and file upload questions are graded by hand, so the file has no answer for them. Formula questions show their formula and the example values Canvas stored.
Can I get the quiz as a Word document?
Yes, with Cubby Pro ($8, paid once): every quiz in the course is saved as a Word file of questions and a second Word file with the answers marked. For one quiz at a time, the free Print button gives you a PDF.
