How to see the age Discord predicted for you
Request your data package with Account ticked, then open Account/user.json. Since September 2026 Discord writes three different age fields there, and only one of them sets your age group. Here is where each sits, what the numbers mean, and how to see them without digging through JSON.
The short answer
- In Discord: User Settings > Data & Privacy > Request Data. Tick Account. It can take up to 30 days.
- Download
package.zipfrom the email and open it in Agelens. The Age signals tab showspredicted_age,inferred_age_group,estimated_age_groupand every age check, each explained. Nothing is uploaded.
Your current age group itself is also shown in the app, at User Settings > Account Status. The package adds what sits behind it: which model or check put you there, and when.
Three age fields, three different things
| Field | What it is | Sets your age group? |
|---|---|---|
inferred_age_group | "The age group assigned to you by the ML model that estimates your age as part of our overall age assurance system (e.g., Teen, Adult)." | Yes, when you have not done an age check |
estimated_age_group | "How we store the outcome of the age assurance method you chose", exact for teens (13, 14, 15), a band for adults (22-25). | Yes, it is the result of your check |
predicted_age | "A different type of age prediction model that we use to understand how users interact with Discord and to power certain features in the app." | No. Discord: "This age signal does not determine your age group" |
date_of_birth | The birthday you gave at sign up; under 18 cut to the first of the month, over 18 shown as 01-01-0001. | No |
So a predicted_age of 13-17 does not by itself make you a teen on Discord, and a teen inferred_age_group does. That difference is why reading the right field matters.
How to read the numbers
Discord's age models work in four bands. In the packages people have shared, each guess comes with the chance the model gave each band, and the four add up to 1:
| Field | Value | Read as |
|---|---|---|
prob_13_17 | 0.3412 | 34% teen |
prob_18_24 | 0.4931 | 49% aged 18 to 24, the top guess |
prob_25_34 | 0.1389 | 14% aged 25 to 34 |
prob_35_over | 0.0268 | 3% aged 35 or older |
The gender guess works the same way, with predicted_gender and prob_male, prob_female and prob_non_binary_gender_expansive. Discord does not say what the gender guess is used for.
Values such as AGE_ASSURANCE_GROUP_22_24 or a number from 1 to 9 are the same groups as Discord's own code names them: 1 to 5 are the ages 13 to 17, 6 is 18-21, 7 is 22-24, 8 is 25-34 and 9 is 35 or older. Agelens turns them back into ages.
Older packages: the guesses in the Activity folder
Before September 2026, the age and gender guesses were not in user.json. They were events inside Activity/analytics/events-*.json, one JSON object per line, among thousands of other events: a line with "predicted_age", a day (day_pt) and the four probabilities. A widely shared 2024 script read them from that folder; a comment on it from February 14, 2026 says it stopped working because the analytics folder moved.
Agelens reads every events file in the package, whatever folder it is in, line by line as it unzips. A package of several gigabytes works, and you can stop the reading any time. If guesses are there, you get the latest one and the history by day.
Can you switch the predictions off?
Discord's help article says two settings control what goes into the Activity folder: User Settings > Data & Privacy > Use data to improve Discord (Analytics) and Use data to personalize my Discord experience (Modeling). It does not say whether turning them off stops the age models. The age group itself can only be changed by confirming it. How that works

Questions
Where do I find my predicted age on Discord?
Only in your data package. Request it with Account ticked and open Account/user.json, or open the whole package.zip in Agelens and look at the Age signals tab. The app itself shows your age group at User Settings > Account Status, not the predicted age.
Does predicted_age decide whether I am in the teen group?
No. Discord says predicted_age "does not determine your age group". The group comes from inferred_age_group (the age estimation model) or from an age check you did, stored as estimated_age_group.
My package has no predicted_age. Why?
The package may be older than the September 2026 change, Account may not have been ticked, or Discord may not have made a prediction for the account. In older packages, look for predicted_age events in the Activity files; Agelens reads those too.
Is the gender guess in the package too?
In many packages, yes: predicted_gender with prob_male, prob_female and prob_non_binary_gender_expansive, mostly in the Activity files of older packages.
