Wristory

Your Samsung Health data on a PC, in any browser

Samsung Health runs only on phones and watches: there is no PC or web version. The app can save everything it recorded as a folder of files (Settings, Download personal data). Open that folder or a ZIP of it here and see your last 90 days on the big screen. The files are read in this tab and never uploaded.

  • Steps, distance and active minutes, day by day
  • Sleep: time asleep, deep, light, REM and awake
  • Heart rate, and your resting or sleeping heart rate when the watch records it
  • Weight, blood pressure, workouts, stress and blood oxygen

Open your Samsung Health download

The folder the app saves in My Files, Downloads, Samsung Health (its name starts with samsunghealth_), or a ZIP of it. Single CSV files from it work too.

Or drag it onto this box. No files at hand?

The download stays on your phone. Get it onto the computer in a few taps.

Your health data is read in this tab and never uploaded. Wristory sends nothing except a Pro license key, to Gumroad, when you paste one. We count page visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics: no cookies, no personal data, and never your files.

Ninety days of the sample export as Wristory’s day sheet: steps on top, each night’s sleep stages under them, one column per day.

Every year, and your data in files you keep

  • Every year in your export, not only the last 90 days.
  • Year against year: two years side by side, metric by metric.
  • An Excel workbook and CSV files: a row per day, plus workouts, sleep sessions, weight and blood pressure.
  • A PDF report of any period to show a doctor or a coach: plain numbers, no advice.
  • A year poster of your steps and sleep, as a PNG and as PDFs for A3 and A4.
  • Full blood pressure and weight tables, every reading with its date and time.

Get your Samsung Health data onto the computer

Samsung Health saves the download on the phone itself; nothing is emailed. These are the steps from Samsung’s support page (menu names can differ a little between app versions):

On the phone

  1. Open Samsung Health, tap the three dots (More options), then Settings.
  2. Find Download personal data, tap Download and allow what it asks. Sign in to your Samsung account if asked, wait until it finishes, and tap OK.
  3. Open My Files, then Downloads, then Samsung Health. Your data is the folder inside whose name starts with samsunghealth_.

To the computer

  1. In My Files, touch and hold that folder, tap More, then Compress. A ZIP appears next to it.
  2. Send the ZIP to yourself by email, Google Drive, OneDrive or Quick Share. Or connect the phone with a USB cable and copy the folder.
  3. On the computer, choose the ZIP or the folder at the top of this page. There is no need to unzip it.

Questions

Is there a Samsung Health app for PC?

No. Samsung Health is an app for Galaxy phones and watches, and Samsung has not released a Windows, Mac or web version. An Android emulator can run the phone app on a PC, but you then sign in to your health account on the emulator. Wristory reads the data the app lets you download instead.

Is my health data uploaded?

No. The page reads the files with your browser, on your computer. You can load the page, switch off the network and open your files: it keeps working. The only request Wristory makes is the Pro license check, which sends the key to Gumroad and nothing else.

What is free, and what does Pro add?

Free: the last 90 days in your export, with the day sheet and every metric the export holds. Pro, $7 once, opens every year and adds year against year, the Excel workbook and CSV files, the PDF report, the year poster and the full blood pressure and weight tables.

Can I open Samsung Health data in Excel?

The download is a folder of CSV files, one per kind of data, so Excel opens each one, but the columns are raw: times in UTC with a separate offset, durations in milliseconds, sleep stages as codes such as 40003. Wristory Pro writes one workbook with a row per day in plain units, plus sheets for workouts, sleep, weight and blood pressure.

My ZIP asks for a password. What now?

A download requested on Samsung’s privacy website comes as a ZIP locked with a password that Samsung emails to you. Browsers cannot open locked ZIPs. Unzip it on the computer with that password, then choose the unzipped folder here. The download from the app itself has no password.

Why are some days empty?

A day is empty when neither the phone nor the watch recorded anything, for example while the watch was charging. Wristory does not fill gaps or guess.

Can I show this to my doctor?

Pro makes a PDF report of the period you pick: plain averages, a week-by-week table and every blood pressure and weight reading. It is your own record from a consumer phone and watch, not a medical test, and Wristory does not interpret it.

Does it read downloads from older phones?

Yes. Downloads from older versions of the app (daily rows with a number instead of a date, files without the first line about the file, phones without a watch) are read too. If a file cannot be read, the list of what Wristory read says which one and why.

Wristory shows your own numbers as your phone and watch recorded them. It is not a medical device, it is not a diagnosis, and it gives no medical advice. When two things move together in your data, that is a correlation, not a cause.
