How to export your Samsung Health data and open it on a PC
In the Samsung Health app, open Settings and tap Download personal data. The app saves a folder of CSV files on the phone, in My Files, Downloads, Samsung Health; nothing is emailed. Below: the steps, how to get the folder to a computer, and what each file in it means.
Export the data on the phone
These are the steps on Samsung’s support page (menu names can differ a little between app versions):
- Open Samsung Health, tap the three dots (More options), then Settings.
- Find Download personal data and tap Download. Allow the permissions it asks for, sign in to your Samsung account if asked, and wait until it finishes. Tap OK.
- Open My Files, then Downloads, then Samsung Health. The download is the folder inside named like
samsunghealth_yourname_20261018091530: your account, then the date and time of the download.
Move it to a computer
- In My Files, touch and hold the folder, tap More, then Compress. A ZIP file appears next to the folder.
- Send the ZIP to yourself: by email, Google Drive, OneDrive, or Quick Share to a Windows PC. Or connect the phone with a USB cable, open it in File Explorer and copy the folder from
Download\Samsung Health. - On the computer you can keep it zipped. Wristory opens the ZIP, the folder or single CSV files in the browser and shows your steps, sleep, heart rate, weight and workouts; the files are never uploaded.
A download you request on Samsung’s privacy website (privacy.samsung.com) is different: it comes as a ZIP with a password that Samsung sends by email. Unzip it with that password first; browsers cannot open password-protected ZIPs.
What is in the folder
One CSV file per kind of data, named after Samsung’s data type and the time of the download, for example com.samsung.health.weight.20261018091530.csv. There are dozens of them; these are the ones most people look for:
| File starts with | What it holds | Units and codes |
|---|---|---|
com.samsung.shealth.tracker.pedometer_day_summary | Steps per day, a row per device plus one for all devices together | distance in metres, active time in milliseconds |
com.samsung.shealth.step_daily_trend | Steps per day | source_type -2 is the row for all devices together, 0 the phone alone |
com.samsung.shealth.tracker.pedometer_step_count | Step log by the minute, per device | the phone and the watch count the same minutes: never add them up |
com.samsung.shealth.sleep | Each sleep: start, end, score, minutes of light and REM sleep | deep minutes are in factor_02 and awake minutes in factor_05 |
com.samsung.health.sleep_stage | The stages of each night, one row per stretch | 40001 awake, 40002 light, 40003 deep, 40004 REM; sleep_id links a stage to its night |
com.samsung.shealth.tracker.heart_rate | Heart rate: hourly summaries from the watch and single readings | beats per minute, with the hour’s min and max |
com.samsung.shealth.vitality_score | The daily score of newer watches, with the sleeping heart rate | shr_value in beats per minute |
com.samsung.shealth.tracker.oxygen_saturation | Blood oxygen, overnight and single readings | per cent |
com.samsung.shealth.stress | Stress score through the day | Samsung’s own 0 to 100 scale |
com.samsung.health.weight | Weigh-ins, with body composition from scales and watches that measure it | kilograms, body fat in per cent |
com.samsung.shealth.blood_pressure | Blood pressure readings | systolic and diastolic in mmHg, pulse in beats per minute |
com.samsung.shealth.exercise | Workouts, including walks the phone noticed on its own | type codes (1001 walking, 1002 running, 11007 cycling), duration in milliseconds, distance in metres |
com.samsung.health.device_profile | Your phones, watches and scales | device names and IDs; Wristory never opens this file |
The jsons folder holds the minute-by-minute detail behind some rows (heart rate through each hour, workout samples, routes). Files the app does not use for your account can be missing, and their columns change between app versions.
How to read the files
- The first line is not the header. It describes the file (data type, version, number of columns). The column names are on the second line, and data starts on the third. Many rows end with an extra empty column.
- Times are in UTC. A time like
2026-10-17 22:40:00.000is UTC; the local offset is in a separatetime_offsetcolumn (UTC+0900). Add the two to get the time you lived. Daily tables useday_timeinstead, a date or, in older downloads, a number of milliseconds. - Durations are in milliseconds. 1,800,000 is 30 minutes. Sleep durations in the sleep file are in minutes.
- Some column names are long. Several files put the data type in front of the column name, as in
com.samsung.health.heart_rate.heart_rate.
To open one file in Excel, use Data, From Text/CSV, choose UTF-8, comma as the delimiter, and skip the first row. In German or Portuguese Excel, where the comma is the decimal mark, pick the delimiter by hand. Wristory Pro writes one Excel workbook instead: a row per day with steps, sleep stages, heart rate, weight, stress and blood oxygen in plain units, and sheets for workouts, sleep, weight and blood pressure.
