Why this page has no prices
A coop costs what its boards, sheets, rolls, panels and screws cost at your store this week, and those prices change by town and by season. So the three lists below give the quantities, made by the tool on 13 October 2026, and leave the price column for you. Type a unit price once and it fills the same item in the other lists too; each total adds up on this page, and nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere.

What makes one coop cost more than another
- The lumber count. 18 boards for the A-frame, 50 for the hen house on legs and 103 for the walk-in. The walk-in also steps up from 2x3 to 2x4 for its taller walls and door.
- The hardware cloth. 2, 2 and 5 rolls, the apron included. A taller run and a longer apron add rolls faster than a bigger house does.
- The plywood. 5, 9 and 12 sheets for the siding, the floor, the boxes and the ramp.
- The fixings. Screws, staples, washers and hog rings come in boxes, so the counts here are what to buy at least. The tool adds a tenth spare to the screws.
- What is not on any list. Paint or stain, pavers or blocks under the legs, the feeder and drinker, bedding and the tools. Plan for them as well.
To price your own design, open it in the tool and type your prices into its shopping list; they stay in the share link, so the person you send it to sees the same total. Pro adds the cut list board by board, so you know which piece comes from which board.
